Doris – JAFFA

Looking out at the blue Mediterranean, in her home nearby her small, family run shop, Doris tells her story, what it meant to grow up in a conservative Christian-Arab family and the twist it gave to her life. Now a confident entrepreneur, Doris, mother of two, lives in Ajami’s neighborhood in the ancient town of Jaffa. She and her husband keep the old family business of selling homemade coffee. Recently, Doris expanded this traditional business into a tour and open-house visit where, while telling us more about her life between tradition and emancipation, she offers us homemade black coffee, baklavas and other oriental specialties.
