ACRE & DRUZE VILLAGE “People of the Galilee”
A day full of senses and encounters Despite its small dimensions, Israel offers an impressive variety of geographical and human diversity. This tour will allow you to feel it with all your senses by visiting Akko followed by a culinary experience at a Druze family´s home. The old city of Acre, partly buried underneath the Ottoman city from the 18th century, has been classified as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001 for its remains of the Crusaders time. Yes, Akko is an overlap of structures that tell us a lot about history and manners of all the populations which followed one another on this place. We will then visit a Druze village and enjoy their unique kitchen which integrates traditional and religious customs and tastes. This is a perfect opportunity to get to know the Druze people – an ethnical minority and religion (an offspring of Islam from the 11th century) who live today in Israel and the Middle East.
